The Klein ISD district administration was made aware of a potentially dangerous situation with a new brand of external battery used in the tablet computer program at Klein Oak, Klein High and in some batteries at Klein Forest and Krimmel. In certain instances brought to our attention, the external batteries expanded, overheated and caused a fire when the battery was charging. The district took up the external batteries at the three campuses during sixth period class today. If your child left early, was absent or their battery was not picked up at school, DO NOT charge the tablet tonight. Please remove the external battery and return it to school tomorrow.
