Varsity Volleyball comes out strong with 15-10
Varsity volleyball started the season with hopes of breaking their fourth place streak.
“We started strong by beating Oak and Collins, which was the first time in a few years,” said sophomore Allison Pawelka. “We have been in fourth place in districts for a while, so we hope to break that record by being third in districts. We also want to move past playoffs and take state.”
In addition to moving past fourth place, the Lady Bearkats have found connections within the team.
“I feel that the team chemistry is stronger this season than last season,” Pawleka added. “We have connected deeper and are becoming friends. I know more about my teammates now. We practice a lot and sit down in a circle, thinking about how to win. We also watch tapes of recorded games and look for weaknesses.”
Students who have yet to see the Lady Kats in action still have a chance.
“There’s only two weeks left in the season,” Pawleka said. “Tuesdays are away games, and Fridays are home games.”
The seasons ends Oct 29. with a game against Atascocita.
