Varsity Volleyball Takes Storming Victory Over Oak Ridge

On Tuesday Nov. 6, the Varsity Volleyball team secured another victory in round three of the playoffs against the Oak Ridge War Eagles. With a booming crowd and tons of support from the cheerleaders and Standleaders, the volleyball team scored 3-1 coming out with the win.

“Effort was outstanding from each player,” Head Coach Kate Zora said. “We were very aggressive with each play and it showed in the result. Team effort was definitely a highlight tonight.”

From within the stands of loud and proud Bearkats, there were cheers to be heard from all around the school. Even after the first quarter, the cheering only got louder.

“Straight from the start they did great, just great and I believe they could go so far in the playoffs keeping up the hard work and effort they put out there,” Principal Jessica Haddox said.

Throughout the game the lady Bearkats kept their spirits high and focused on winning the game no matter what was going on around them.

“The game went really good, we had kind of a downfall in the third set but came back strong to win,” volleyball player Nena Mbonu said. “The opposing team was a good challenge and its great to have it that way to make us better for the next round of playoffs.”

The next game isFriday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 P.M. at Sam Houston State University. They will Face Prosper High School.
